As Customer Service Appreciation Week kicks off, we thought it would be neat to look back and share how customer service has changed over the years.
One big change in customer service is technology. We all can agree that technology has completely changed how we do business. For example, we have upgraded our billing systems , meters , phone systems, and new service options. These enhancements have provided our customers with easy access to their electric bills, usage, and information about questions they may have. We wouldn’t have been able to make these advancements without our customer service employees working long hours to provide insights, process improvement suggestions, and workflows as implemented these upgrades.
Over the years, Santee Cooper has significantly expanded the ways customers can do business with us to make it easier for the customer to choose what works best for them. In the early 90s, customers had to drive to one of our office locations to speak to us. Now, our customers can use our app, call, visit, email, chat, or stop by their local bank or store to do business with us. Although these options may mean we have less face-to-face interaction with each of you, we know the choice is important. And our customer service representatives continue to provide excellent customer service through all these new channels.
The one thing that has remained the same year after year is our people! Our teams work very hard to provide our customers with excellent customer service. They think about every touchpoint and how we can enhance or improve our processes to ensure we’re exceeding your expectations. They are the first to jump right in on new customer service projects. They are always available and ready to ensure you experience a friendly voice on the other end of the phone or a welcoming smile across the counter when you visit our offices in person.
When it comes to storms, while others prepare to evacuate before a storm, our customer service representatives and other team members are heading to work to ensure your calls are being answered if you should experience a storm-related outage .
As we mentioned, times have changed, and doing business with us is evolving, but one thing that will remain the same is our customer service team’s commitment to providing you with excellent customer service. We invite you to join us as we celebrate Customer Service Appreciation Week by giving our team a big shout-out for all their hard work and dedication to ensure our customers have the best experience when doing business with us.
