Santee Cooper Announces Organizational Changes Within Generation Management

MONCKS CORNER, S.C. – Santee Cooper has strengthened its generation management team with the recent appointments of Darla Barnette as Manager of Renewable Generation and Ged Moree as Manager of Winyah Generating Station. Both appointments took effect Sept. 28.

These moves follow the naming of Jeff Zeigler as Manager of Cross Generating Station earlier this year.

“These changes best position the Generation Department for long-term success,” said Chief Operations Officer Mike Finissi. “All three bring a wealth of experience in power generation, which will serve them well as they take on leadership in their new roles.”

Barnette joined Santee Cooper in 1993 and among other roles has led Santee Cooper’s Continuous Improvement Program and served as Water Systems Manager and, most recently, Manager of Winyah Generating Station. She received her bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Clemson University and her master’s degree in business administration from The Citadel.

Moree, a registered Professional Engineer, joined Santee Cooper in 2008. Since 2015, he has been Superintendent of Operations at Winyah. Previously he served in various other roles within the Winyah operations department. Moree obtained his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Clemson University and his master’s degree in business administration from The Citadel.

Zeigler, a registered Professional Engineer, joined Santee Cooper in 2006 and had served as Interim Manager at Cross Generating Station since August of 2023. Prior to this, he led the Technical Services department at Cross Generating Station and the Performance Services department within Generation Services. Zeigler earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Clemson University and a master’s degree in business administration from The Citadel.
