Santee Cooper Statement on Lake Levels and Operations

Recent inflows associated with the remnants of Hurricane Isaias have restored water levels in Lake Marion and Lake Moultrie back into their normal operating range. In response, Santee Cooper is resuming normal system operations, including a standard operating posture at the St. Stephen Hydro Station.

While the recent rain has improved lake levels, water levels are still below the rule curve target elevation. With extremely dry weather forecast for the next two weeks, our team is taking a cautious approach, which includes closely watching water levels, incoming flows and weather conditions to keep the lakes stable and ensure reliable power and water delivery.

For more than 90 years, Santee Cooper has been serving the people of South Carolina.
